How Far Along: 18 weeks

Size of baby: Baby Langbein is approximately 5 1/2 inches long (about the length of a bell pepper) and weighs almost 7 ounces

Maternity Clothes: still in my regular clothes and wearing some maternity pants

Gender: ????

Movement: None yet

Sleep: Starting to experience some back pain on my right side which means I can only sleep on my left side. I still wake up on my back sometimes. Yikes!

Symptoms: A little tired and back pain

What I miss: sleeping on my back and stomachFood/Cravings: Italian

Best Moment this week: this is kind of a best/worst moment of the week. We went to the doctor on Monday and were supposed to find out what we are having, but Baby Langbein had other plans. The cord was right between the legs so they couldn’t see anything. Boo!!! But the best moment was hearing the doctor say that everything looks good and Baby Langbein appears to be doing very well. What I am looking forward to this week: finding out if it’s a boy or a girl! Hurry up December 30th!!!!

Junior League Casino Party

On November 12th we attended the JLD Casino and Auction Party at the Hall of State. It was a fun night spent with my most favorite ladies.

We began the night at the Furr's - champagne for the ladies, whiskey for the guys and nada for me. :( I was the lucky designated driver for the evening.

Here we are posing for pictures before we headed out.

Pretty ladies.....

Our lovely photographers

Me and Burnsie

My handsome hubby

I was a little disappointed with the food options (I wanted some REAL food!) and the layout was a little akward but it was still a fun night.

And just because...this picture cracks me up.

Gig'em!!

Once again, I am playing catch up with the blog. A few weekends ago we made our annual to trip to College Station for the weekend. It was so fun to be back and to spend time with my college friends. Every year we pick a football game and everyone comes to tailgate and cheer on the Ags.

Friday night we met up with everyone at La Bodega - a yummy taco place we use to frequent back in the day. Next, it was on to North Gate - my how its changed since I was in school.

Terry thought it would be funny to tell the waitress it was Matt's birthday and, guess what, it was. She came out singing and sat a dessert down in front of him and all of us were like WTF?

Happy Birthday Matt, in October.

And then it was on the Corner Bar.....

Lauren and Terry

B-tron and Matt

Pamela and Kevin

The setup

YUM!! Homemade guacamole made by our most favorite Buckeye. We even got him to sport an Aggie shirt for the game.

My besties!!

The spread - BBQ from Rudy's! We took the easy way out this year and ordered the food.

So what do you do to celebrate a win over Texas Tech? Why, you head back to the tailgate, pull up a truck, crank up the music, and have a good old fashioned DANCE PAR-TAY.

Jenn was serious about the dance party :)

And, finally calling it a night.

What a fun weekend!! Good times, great friends and an Aggie win! Can't wait to do it again next year!

Our First Doctor's Appointment

Today was our very first doctor appointment.

Now, you always hear people who have been pregnant say, "I wish I had known this" or "I wish someone had told me that." Well, I wish someone would have told me that you don't go see your doctor the day after you find out your pregnant. WTH?? I had no idea how long they make you wait before you actually have an office visit.

When I called my ob/gyn's office to tell them I was pregnant, the first thing I got was "are you sure you're pregant?" Me - "uh, I've taken five tests and they've all been positive so I'm pretty sure I'm pregnant." The nurse then proceeds to tell me that my doctor won't want to see me until I'm 8 WEEKS, preferably 9 WEEKS. Um, excuse me, 9 weeks? Do they not realize how long that is? When I found out I was pregnant I was only 5 1/2 weeks, so the thought of waiting 3 1/2 weeks before seeing my doctor was frustrating, not to mention terrifying. What was I supposed to do those three weeks? Just assume everything was ok with the baby? That everything was ok with me? For those of you that know me, I tend to worry and my mind tends to wonder at times. Neither of those are a good thing when you're pregnant for the first time.
Needless to say, those were the longest three weeks of my life but finally the day arrived, and that day was today! YAY!

Here we are in the parking garage getting ready to go into my doctor's office.

Who do you think is more nervous?

A little better

Now we're talking. Still a little nervous, but happy to be seeing our bean for the first time today.

Once we were called back I answered about a hundred questions (don't worry, I brought about a hundred questions with me for the doctor to answer as well), they took my blood pressure, weighed me, etc. We finally met with Dr. Ryder and then it was time for the sonogram. As I laid there waiting on the technician to get all the equipment running I felt like I couldn't breathe. I was so excited to be seeing our baby for the first time but so nervous - I just wanted everything to look normal and for her to tell us our baby looked healthy. Luckily, within just a few seconds our little bean was up on the monitor. It was one of the best moments of my life!! Our bean had a very strong heart beat (we couldn't hear it yet because it was still too early) and everything looked perfect. I felt so relieved and so blessed!

Here we are with the first picture of our sweet baby! So exciting!

State Fair Part 2

The actual title of this post should be "FOOD, and MORE FOOD"

We headed to the State Fair again with some of my favorite gals and their significant others. We had the best time wandering around and tasting all kinds of yummy treats. We tried the fried frito pie, fried grilled cheese, fried peaches and cream, fried bacon, fried snickers (are you noticing a trend?) and of course a Fletcher's Corney Dog. It's safe to say I went home with a stomach ache (and my pants unbuttoned) but it was sooo worth it.
