Play Date with Parker

We met Jenn and Parker today for lunch at North Park. We ate a yummy lunch at Nordstrom (the boys were soooo good) and then walked around and took advantage of the AC. I swear this is the hottest summer we've ever had.

Once we were finished at the mall we came back to house so they boys could play. Well they don't really play yet, they mostly just hit each other in the face with their arms but it's still cute to watch. It also gives the mommas time to chat.

I'm so glad these two little guys get to grow up together. I just know they're going to be best friends just like their moms.

Visitors

Today we had visitors - yay!!! As much as I enjoy being home with Tyler I do sometimes miss having contact with the outside world. HA! It's definitely a treat when our friends come to visit us. My boss Nancy and her daughter came over today to see Mr. Tyler.

Not much going on here today...just hanging out with these handsome fellas.

Big Brother

When we first brought Tyler home we were a little worried with how our fur baby Harley would react. Well, we couldn't have asked for him to have adjusted any better. He's been amazing and is taking his role of big brother very seriously. He's definitely become more protective - he barks at anything that moves outside, anyone that comes to the door and even our pool guy which he never did before, but it's kind of nice having him so alert since I'm home alone all day.

Harley the Dog ("HTD")

He sleeps under Tyler's cradle in our room, lays under his swing, and hangs out by his play mat. When Tyler starts crying he'll come find you just in case he thinks you might now have heard him. Anytime we're in the nursery changing a diaper, rocking him, etc. Harley is always right at our feet looking out for his little brother.

Father's Day

Happy Father's Day Matt!!

I know you've only been a Dad for a month but you have blown me away with your ability to love and care for our son. Ever since Tyler was born you haven't batted an eye at changing diapers, helping me with middle of the night feedings, soothing and rocking our little guy, letting him sleep on your chest, and I could go on and on.

Tyler and I are so lucky to have you!! We love you so much!

Minnie Furr's Birthday

Tonight Matt and I left our little man in good hands (with his Grammy) and ventured out to Northwood Country Club to celebrate Lauren's 28th birthday. It was fun to get out of the house and see my friends. There was fun, wine and lots of adult conversation. :)

Tyler - 1 month

Sweet baby Tyler, I cannot believe you are already one month old! I almost want to cry thinking about it. The past four weeks have been the quickest four weeks of my life. By far the most draining yet most rewarding. I wouldn't change a thing - being a momma is the best feeling in the world! I spend many hours a day just holding, staring and talking to you sweet boy. Daddy has been hard at work this past month - we miss him while he is away and we look forward to him coming home each night. Daddy loves to give you smooches and he likes to lay on the couch with you on his stomach.

SLEEP

We have no real routine just yet. You sleep whenever you want throughout the day – some days you nap well and other days you are wide awake for long periods of time. You still don’t have a set bedtime. We just do what works for us now and I’m hopeful that eventually a routine will begin. I am so thankful that you seem to have your days and nights figured out though. You’re sleeping about 3 hours at a time at night. Mommy and Daddy aren’t complaining but we look forward to when you’ll be sleeping f0r longer stretches. You are still sleeping in your cradle in our room but we’re hoping to transition you to your crib very soon.

FEEDING

You’re feeding about every 2-3 hours and every once in a while we'll have a 3-4 hour stretch during the night. The pediatrician said not to wake you at night to feed so we are taking his advice and letting you wake up on your own. You have been so great at nursing so far, you love eating! (just like your parents ) Nursing is going perfectly for us so far and I am so thankful.

Birth - 7 pounds 6 ounces

Leaving the hospital - 6 pounds 10 ounces

May 25th - 8 pounds 8 ounce

One month checkup (June 10th) - 9 pounds 6 ounces (you are gaining weight like a champ)

LENGTH

Birth – 19.5 inches

One month checkup – 20.5 inches - 50th percentile

DIAPER SIZE

Still in newborn but you are very close to moving into a size 1

CLOTHES SIZE

Mostly newborn and some 0-3 months

EYE COLOR

Birth - bright blue

One month - darker blue

HAIR COLOR

Birth – tons of dark brown hair

One month – you still have a headful of dark brown hair (just like your mama)

MILESTONES

Your neck is very strong and continues to get stronger. You are getting more and more alert by the day. You like to look at lights, out the window and watch the ceiling fan. We took you to Northpark for your first shopping trip. Paw Paw bought you lots of cute outfits.

We also met mommy’s friend Jenn and Baby Parker for lunch – you were so good and slept the entire time.

YOUR FAVORITES

You love your paci, baths, eating/nursing, and cuddle time with daddy and mommy. You also love visiting with your grandparents and riding in the car. You are starting to enjoy your swing and bouncy seat more too.

Tyler - your Daddy and I love you more than anything in the world! You are the sweetest baby and we couldn't feel more blessed to call you ours. You complete our life :)
